ENCARNA SOLER
Ceramist specialized in Shino glaze and Raku-inspired tea bowls, Encarna Soler explores the spiritual and aesthetic traditions of Eastern ceramics through a deeply studied and refined practice. Her work is rooted in the philosophy of the tea ceremony, where harmony, simplicity and the beauty of imperfection are essential values.
Trained with internationally renowned masters such as José Antonio Sarmiento, Jean François Dolorme, Ingrid Lilligren, Tatzuzo Shimaoka and Minoru Suzuki, Soler has developed a distinctive language centered on chawan and ritual vessels. Her pieces are unique, expressive and meditative, revealing a sensitive dialogue between fire, glaze and form.
Awarded the Gold Medal at the Munyeong Chasabel competition (Korea, 2015) for a Shino-glazed chawan, her work has been exhibited internationally across Europe, Asia and the United States, as well as in the Museu de la Ceràmica de Barcelona. Through her practice and teaching, she continues to bridge contemporary ceramics with the timeless poetics of Oriental tradition.
