MERITXELL DURAN
Meritxell Duran is a multidisciplinary artist working across illustration, sculpture, objects, and vegetal forms. Her practice is rooted in a deep connection with nature, combining drawing, cultivation, and volumetric construction to create a poetic universe marked by humor, tenderness, and emotional warmth.
After a long career teaching in leading art and design schools in Barcelona and collaborating as an illustrator with international publications, she moved to the countryside near Montseny to develop a more intimate body of work under the project OBJECTES.
This ongoing series explores the idea of collecting, cooking, and serving nature at the table through handcrafted ceramic utensils made with traditional techniques and a contemporary, emotional perspective. Her sculptural pieces, playful and enigmatic, seem to belong equally to a prehistoric past and a speculative future, celebrating rural heritage, everyday rituals, and the joy of simple, honest forms.
