SANTIAGO SAHLI
Santiago Sahli is a Chilean ceramic artist, born in Santiago de Chile and currently based in Madrid. His practice moves between the utilitarian and the sculptural, driven by experimentation and material research. Originally trained in graphic design, photography and food culture, his transition into ceramics introduced a slower, more tactile way of working, centered on patience, process and transformation. His pieces are developed in small, unique collections, each conceived as an exploration rather than a fixed result.
Working with clay, minerals and pigments he personally collects, Sahli subjects his materials to high temperatures to reveal unpredictable surfaces, cracks and textures. His work investigates the natural behavior of clay and its interaction with other elements, embracing chance and imperfection as part of the final form. Established in Madrid since 2023, his ceramic language reflects a deep connection to the earth’s geology and an ongoing dialogue between control and spontaneity.
