TORU
Barcelona-based editor and workshop dedicated to the production of furniture and objects made with natural fibres. Rooted in a family tradition spanning more than 130 years, their work draws from deep knowledge of weaving, basketry and interior craftsmanship, sourcing materials through long-standing relationships with artisans and suppliers around the world. The studio is currently run by Jordi Ribaudí and Maite Pérez, continuing the legacy with a contemporary, craft-driven vision.
Their collections combine experimentation and craftsmanship, transforming leather into sculptural yet functional furniture and objects. Each piece is handmade by local artisans and produced either as unique works or in small series, emphasizing durability, material honesty, and a deep sensory connection to the object.
By working closely with nearby tanneries and embracing slow, process-driven design, TORU creates timeless pieces where simplicity, touch, and natural ageing become essential qualities, reflecting a dialogue between contemporary design and ancestral leather craftsmanship.
